My 5 favorite apps I use when traveling
Over the years, I’ve discovered and downloaded countless applications on my phone to assist me in my travels and make the most of my experiences. These are a few of my favorites I’ve used and will continue to use in the future!
5. Worldpackers
This is an app to use for a unique and budget-friendly travel experience. I visited Kotor, Montenegro for 3 weeks under a work exchange program I found through Worldpackers. I worked at a hostel as a receptionist and housekeeper in exchange for a bed in a 10-bed hostel room. There are opportunities to work at hostels, farms, and more around the world!
4. Stylebook
This app is amazing for planning outfits ahead of a trip. I upload pictures of my own clothing items and I can create outfits for different occasions. When I’m going on a trip, I can create a custom packing list and plan out what I’ll wear each day.
3. Hostelworld
Staying in hostels has been the best way that I’ve been able to travel on a budget - and it can be a great way to meet people from all over the world! Hostelworld is the best app I’ve found for searching for hostel accommodation around the world.
2. Skyscanner
This is my go-to app for searching for affordable flights. I like being able to search different dates when I’m planning a trip to see when prices are the lowest to fly somewhere. The app is specifically geared towards finding the most affordable flights across different airlines and websites.
1. Wanderlog
I used to plan my trips in my notes app, until my most recent trip to the UK. I found Wanderlog, an app where I can plan my itinerary, import my flight and hotel info, create a budget, and more, even with the free version.
